Department of CSE organized a hands on session on "Project to Conference Paper" for VIII semester students on 03/04/2024 in Skill Lab. Prof. Babitha Ganesh Kulal, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, CEC, Benjanapadavu was the resource person. Topics discussed were: Basics of Conference Presentation, Processes involved in Conference Publication, Guidelines to prepare conference articles. The session further extended by reviewing draft articles prepared by individual teams and also provided comprehensive suggestions to refine their articles. About 82 students of VIII Semester CSE had actively participated in the session. The event was coordinated by Mr. Janardhana Bhat K, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE. The codefest event will help students to assess their ability to analyze problems, devise efficient algorithms, and implement solutions within time constraints. Participating in these contests showcases student’s problem-solving skills, which are highly valued in technical fields like computer science and engineering. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Talk on “Engineering: A Career for My Life” for 3rd-semester students on 07/02/2024. Dr. Uday Kumar Shenoy, Dean, Research and Development, was the resource person. Topics discussed were: the importance of setting goals in life, completeness/fullness, acquiring, knowledge; commitment and dedication in work, and innovation and creativity. The stages of project development, like design, implementation, and testing, were discussed. He also motivated students to carry out real-time projects that solve societal problems by giving real-time examples. About 84 students attended the session. Dr. Sunil Kumar B. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Institutions Innovation Council(IIC), organized "Project Expo on Full Stack Technovation" on January 17,2023 in the Skill Lab. Event was scheduled from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Dr. Nagesh H. Principal inaugurated the event. About 33 teams participated in the project expo.The Project Expo showcased innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate front-end and back-end technologies to deliver robust and user-friendly applications. Focused on the latest tools and frameworks to create dynamic, responsive, and feature-rich platforms.The competition was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sunil Kumar B L. HOD, CSE. Mr.Rajgopal K.T, Assistant Professor , Dept. of CSE and Ms .Saritha Suvarna , Assistant Professor , Dept. of CSE has coordinated the event. Cash prizes along with certificates were awarded to the winners. Objectives: 1. To Learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development 2. To become proficient in front-end frameworks like React, Angular JS, NODE JS and API. 3. To learn Back-End Development Proficiency. 4. The branch entry program was organized on 17/11/23 by the central arts and cultural department in the Open Stage of CEC campus. 64 students from 2nd year and final year participated in the event. The students performed on the theme "New Age Oldies" showcasing their talent in song and dance . Mr.Giridhar Kini M were the MC from Department of CSE. The AYUDHA POOJA is organized in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on October 31, 2023. The celebration of Ayudha Pooja was carried out in the CSE department. The Computer Science Laboratories were decorated by the students. A variety of cultural events were organized that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region. The Pooja started at 11 AM in the MP Lab, and Prasad was distributed to all the staff members and students. All our department students and faculty participated and took the blessing from Lord Saraswati.

The workshop is designed for faculty members to empower them with the practical skills and knowledge needed to harness the power of R for data analysis and visualization enabling them to effectively deliver content prescribed by the VTU for the R-Programming Course (BCS358B) as per 2022 scheme. During this workshop, participants will delve into the fundamentals of R programming, starting with an introduction to the R environment and its syntax. They will learn to import and manipulate data using R. The workshop will also cover the essentials of data visualization, that allows in effectively communicating the findings from data through compelling graphs and charts.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering held a hands-on Session on "API, NODE JS, EXPRESS JS" for fourth semester CSE students on August 31, 2023 in the Skill Lab. The event followed with a hands-on exercise including building applications using Web API, Node JS and Packages using Node JS which was led by Prof. Saritha Suvarna, Mr. Dishanth Shetty of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. There were 94 students present for the session. The event was organized by Rajgopal K.T.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering held a hands-on Session on "JavaScript" for fourth semester CSE students on August 2, 2023 in the Skill Lab. The event followed with a hands-on exercise including building registration forms, applying validation to all of the features used in the form and creating the websites, which was led by Prof. Saritha Suvarna of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. There were 126 students present for the session. The event was organized by Rajgopal K.T.

On July 26, 2023, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted the hands on session on "Git and GitHub" for fourth semester CSE students in Skill Lab. Prof. Rajgopal K.T and Mr. Kunal Kittur , Department of Computer Science and Engineering, gave insights of Git and GitHub. They also conducted hands on session on different commands required to build a project using git. Mr.Mohammed Bilal Ahmed continued the session with different technology certification courses and the importance of certification courses for industry.114 students took part in the session .Ms.Saritha Suvarna organized the event.
